Alexis+George Wedding Day | Kimpton Hotel Monaco, Pittsburgh PA | City Wedding | 6.17.22 | DAS Photography
June 17, 2023

June 17, 2022 was a beautiful spring day in the city, and the sun was shining brightly. The different part about this wedding was that I was asked to be the photographer AND a bridesmaid! I had never done both before but I was determined to make sure they had the absolute best wedding photos and to stand by them by their sides. Many asked, "HOW are you going to do both?!"... And I said "Very strategically"... (plus asking fellow photo friend, Natalia, for some help of corse haha!) She would capture the parts of the day that I needed to be a bridesmaid and I would do the rest! spoiler alert: it worked out flawlessly! (:

The day was finally here and Alexis wore a stunning white gown and long veil that flowed gracefully in the breeze. And she carried a stunning bouquet of colorful flowers that were fresh and fragrant! All of the bridesmaids different styles of a  purple dresses that matched the theme of the wedding perfectly, and the white bouquets smelled gorgeous!

As the guests arrived at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, they were greeted with a stunning view of the stained glass windows and a central ceiling dome that measures 50 feet in diameter. This church that was made in 1904 gave that the classic Roman catholic church feel that they were hoping for- and in my opinion, it was the perfect place for them! After the ceremony the bridal party and guests lined the steps with bells and ribbons to be the first to celebrate the new Mr and Mrs! They were so happy (:

After running around Oakland for their wedding portraits we returned back to Hotel Monaco for the reception! The guests sat on white chairs that were set up in a circular arrangement, creating an intimate and personal atmosphere even though the ceilings were very tall. Everyone was treated to a delicious feast of food and drinks. The tables were decorated with a simple stem of white flowers and different colored vases and jars that Alexis hand picked for their day throughout their engagement. The centerpieces were simple yet fun and elegant- the perfect mix to compliment the style of the venue. The room was buzzing with enjoyment as their friends and family celebrated the union of the happy couple.

Towards sunset we were able to sneak away to the roof for some night shots. They were able to take a moment in time together, dancing under the stars and string lights, while the beautiful city of Pittsburgh shined in the background.

All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and joy. The city provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable wedding, and the Alexis and George will surely cherish the memories of their special day for years to come!
